Bell Center Montreal is looking for event staff to work on the NHL Draft
Montreal hockey fans could get closer to the 2022 NHL Draft on July 7 and 8. The Bell Center is looking for people to fill nearly a dozen temporary positions in order to contribute to the smooth running of the major hockey event. Anyone hired for the event will earn a front-row seat to the Habs’ top pick and even get to meet new recruits and their families.
Among the jobs available are guides, hostesses, photography coordinators, transportation and trophy attendants, print clerks and family lounge workers.
Salaries range from $18 to $21 per hour, depending on the role.
The work would be contractual and temporary. Eligible candidates must be available to work on Thursday, July 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday, July 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Guides will help NHL Draft rookies and families get to the event and will be the first point of contact between Bell Center drivers and attendees. They will also welcome recruits and help them in the photo lounge. The guides then escort the recruits to the family lounge.
Photography coordinators will hand out cards to photographers on the editorial floor and return them to photo editors in the processing rooms, while hosts will greet players’ families and provide wristbands for the family lounge.
Family lounge attendants will monitor the arrival of recruits and take care of their families, including assisting in locating lost or misplaced items.
Other roles involve collecting luggage from general managers, coaches and players. Employees will tag personal effects and ensure they go through the baggage check area before helping players enter the NHL Draft.
Trophy attendants will ensure that nothing is stolen or damaged in the trophy area. They can answer questions from fans and must prevent people from getting too close or touching the trophies.
Candidates must be able to work legally in Canada and speak English (knowledge of French is a plus). Previous guest management experience is preferred. The same goes for the ability to work well in a high-level, high-pressure environment.
