New York Jets schedule and 2021 season predictions
Bill Belichick regularly beats rookie quarterbacks, and there’s no reason to think Wilson will be an exception. It is no longer mid-level college football. It’s the AFC East, and even in last year’s offseason, New England were still 5-3 at home.
Prediction: Patriots 28, Jets 14
Week 8 – vs Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow has Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd to throw at. The Jets don’t have the staff in the back to match. However, it’s not like the Cincinnati defense is anything special, so Wilson shouldn’t have a problem putting points on the board either.
Prediction: Jets 41, Bengals 38
Week 9 – @ Indianapolis Colts
Is Carson Wentz Really The Answer To The Indianapolis Quarterback? Time will tell, and managing the expectations of the championship won’t help. It seems like the classic trap game for the Colts in which they should ultimately win, but Wilson will make it interesting.
Prediction: Colts 31, Jets 27
Week 10 – vs Buffalo Bills
Regardless of the venue, Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his receiving corps of Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders are going to be too much of a challenge for the Jets’ unproven high school. They should have little trouble racking up points at MetLife Stadium, regardless of game day conditions.
Prediction: Bills 45, Jets 21
Week 11 – vs Miami Dolphins
The home ground advantage may well be enough to tip it in favor of New York. A lackluster attack from the Dolphins and Saleh’s exotic plans, combined with Wilson’s playing ability, could derail Miami’s hopes of a key Division victory.
Prediction: Jets 19, Dolphins 17
Week 12 – @ Houston Texans
As bad as the Jets’ roster looks to go into this offseason, they’ve made some serious improvements. Meanwhile, Houston could have the worst collection of NFL players. Even Gang Green should have little trouble blowing up the Texans.
Prediction: Jets 38, Texans 17
Week 13 – vs Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia’s defense is real, its offensive line brings back many key players, and Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith could immediately be the Eagles’ No.1 receiver. This causes problems in New York City, as Wilson thinks he gets hit in this one by Fletcher Cox and Co.
Prediction: Eagles 27, Jets 19
Week 14 – vs New Orleans Saints
Despite having a slim cornerback body that could be tested, New Orleans should be able to do enough to clinch a victory. Saints tailback Alvin Kamara is going to be a problem for anyone New York tries to cover him, and he should be the X factor that tilts this one in favor of the visitors.
Prediction: Saints 31, Jets 23
Week 15 – @ Miami Dolphins
Because Tua Tagovailoa hasn’t really proven himself yet, the Jets could have the best quarterback when they faced off with the Dolphins this season. However, Miami’s top-tier defense will likely be too much for Wilson to handle, especially on the road.
Prediction: Dolphins 27, Jets 17
