Seattle Kraken has a mascot – Meet Buoy

The Seattle Kraken have unveiled their new mascot named Buoy. He’s a troll with the Seattle Kraken brand.

It seems like a lot of NHL fans aren’t happy with the Seattle Kraken unveiling their new mascot named Buoy. The first reaction is disappointment from Kraken fans.

At first glance, the Kraken’s mascot, Buoy, matches the Seattle Kraken’s color scheme, and it looks like the character is a troll.

It will probably take time for the fan base to get used to Buoy. Remember the backlash Gritty received from Philadelphia fans and the NHL in general. Now Gritty is the NHL’s most popular mascot and that’s what Seattle hopes to happen with Buoy.

Why didn’t the Seattle Kraken choose a sea monster as their mascot?

The mascots are aimed at children and selecting a sea monster as a mascot could scare children, and marketing to young fans is big business for the NHL, so the Kraken needed a friendlier face rather than a mascot. like Davey from Pirates of the Caribbean as shown above.

Fans of the Kraken will just have to give it time and the mascot will grow in the fan base. You’d think the Toronto Maple Leafs fan base was happy with Carlton the Bear when he debuted in 1995. Now he’s part of the franchise and a hit with the kids.
