Jonathan drouin notched two assists for the Montreal Canadiens in a 5-2 preseason win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Montreal Bell Center on Monday upon his return after taking anxiety leave last season .

Christian Dvorak had one goal and three assists in his debut with the Canadiens after being acquired in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes on September 4. Josh Anderson scored two goals and got an assist, and Michael Pezzetta scored two goals.

Drouin hadn’t played since April 21, missing Montreal’s last 12 regular season games and his run to the Stanley Cup final. He played on a line with Dvorak and Anderson.

Ondrej Kase cut it to 4-2 with 1:03 left in the second.

Pezzetta scored with 1:49 remaining for the 5-2 final.

Jake allen made 15 saves on 15 shots in 29:46 for Montreal, and Kevin Poulin allowed two goals on 22 shots. Jack campbell allowed three goals on 12 shots in 29:46, and Petr Mrazek made seven saves on eight shots in his Toronto debut after signing a three-year free agent contract on July 28.

It was the first game with the Maple Leafs for Kampf and Kase.

Canucks 4, Flames 2: Oliver Ekman-Larsson got two assists and Conor garland scored for the Vancouver Canucks in a 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames at the Abbotsford Center in Abbotsford, BC on Monday.

It was the Vancouver debut for Ekman-Larsson and Garland, who were acquired in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes on July 23.

Garland gave the Canucks a 1-0 lead with a power play goal on an Ekman-Larsson assist at 2:38 of the first period.

Chase Wouters made it 2-0 at 12:19 from the first, and JT Miller scored a power-play goal 3:15 later to give Vancouver a 3-0 lead at 3:34 pm.

Dillon Dubé scored a power-play goal at 12:48 of the second period to make it 3-1, and Connor mackey is 3-2 at 19:19.

Tanner pearson scored at 13:31 of the third period for the 4-2 final.

Michael Dipietro made 13 saves for the Canucks. Adam werner allowed three goals on 15 shots, and Dan Vladar made two saves for the Flames.

Coyotes 2, Kings 1: Dylan Guenther gave the nod at 9:21 of the third period, and the Arizona Coyotes defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. On Monday.

It was the start of the preseason for each team. Guenther made his Coyotes debut after being the ninth pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Blue 2, Stars 1 (OT): Sam Anas scored 1:43 in overtime to give the St. Louis Blues a 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Monday.

It was the first game of the preseason for Dallas.

Pavel Boutchnevich scored one goal and one assist in his Blues debut after being acquired in a trade with the New York Rangers on July 23. He didn’t play in a 6-2 win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.

Scott Perunovitch had two assists for St. Louis.

Riley Tufte gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 6:00 p.m. of the first period.

Buchnevich tied 1-1 on the power play with 59 seconds left in the second.

Braden Holtby made 15 saves on 16 shots in his Stars debut after signing a one-year free agent contract on July 28. Jake oettinger took over to start the third period and made 12 saves on 13 shots.

Jordan binnington made 12 saves on 13 shots in the first period for the Blues before being relieved by Joel hofer, who made 11 relief saves for the win.

Blue jackets 3, Penguins 0: Yegor Chinakhov scored in his NHL debut, and the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh on Monday.

It was the start of the preseason for each team.

Chinakhov received a pass to the point before beating the keeper Tristan Jarry at 4:28 pm of the first period to bring the score to 1-0. Chinakov was selected by Columbus in the first round (21st) of the 2020 NHL Draft.

Adam boqvist made it 2-0 at 4:10 of the third period. The defenseman was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks as part of the trade for Seth jones July 23.

Emil Bemstrom scored in an empty net at 17:43 for the 3-0 final.

JF Berube started for Columbus and made 20 saves before being substituted at 11:55 of the second period by Jet Greaves, who made eight saves.

Jarry made eight saves for Pittsburgh. It was replaced at 11:34 of a second by Philippe lindberg, who made 12 saves.
