Guelph Storm vs. Mississauga Steelheads

The Storm concluded a preseason home-and-away against the Mississauga Steelheads.

David E. Hastings Stadium, 70 Division St., 7:30 p.m. (tentative)

Guelph will face Welland in Game 1 of their best-of-five IBL semifinal series if Guelph wins Game 5 of the quarterfinals at home on Friday night.

Guelph Farmers Market

2 Gordon Street; 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Local vendors selling food and drink like Queen of Cups, Doug’s Honey, Revel Cider and more.

Aberfoyle Farmers Market

Puslinch Optimist Recreation Centre, 23 Brock Road. S., 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Local vendors selling food, drink and products like honey, beeswax candles, handmade apple fritters, cookies and more.

Guelph Craft Market in the Park

Royal City Park at 139 Gordon Street; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Local artisans and artisans sell their wares like jewelry, bath bombs, clothing, and other gifts.

Do you have free stuff to give away? Bring items to the curb and clearly label them as FREE. While you’re there, take a look around the neighborhood to see if there are any deals you can find for your home. This only happens twice a year!

Aberfoyle Antiques Market

57 Brock Road. S.; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is Canada’s oldest antique market, opened in 1961. There are over 100 vendors selling collectibles, antiques, art, and furniture.

Guelph Gryphons vs. Windsor Lancers

Alumni Stadium, 15 Lang Way, 1 p.m.

The Guelph Gryphons football team takes on Windsor for their orientation week game, which also happens to be Guelph’s home opener. Tickets are still available here. University of Guelph students enter free with a valid student ID.

Labor Day Picnic

Riverside Park, 709 Woolwich Street, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Have a picnic in the park for Labor Day. There will be live music, face painting, rides, information booths and more. There are also free refreshments and $1 hot dogs and samosas.

Piscine Lyon, 301 York Road, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Lyon Pool is dedicating its last swim of the season to dogs! Sign up for an hour-long session to take your dog for a swim, while you socialize with other dog owners on deck. CLICK HERE for the rules and a link to register.
